I brought my 2003 lx470 to get coolant flushed today, and the people that did it told me that they just put both the gallons of coolant in but left the gallon of distilled water out and didn’t dilute it. Will this cause any problems? Should I drain a gallon and put the distilled water in?

Won't cool as effectively, pure coolant doesn't cool as good as water, but it doesn't evaporate or freeze over. Depends on your climate, if you live in the cold all the time, you can use pure coolant and it won't be an issue, but if you are in different climate, dilute it at least 30/70, but optimal is 50/50

Do what Toyota specs out, why reinvent the wheel? Also, this is an easy thing to do. Just split it in half. That's being lazy and if a shop doesn't get why distilled water or 50mix is needed, find a new shop. IMO.

Are you sure they didn’t use the pink Toyota Super Long Life? It’s already diluted.

I would think this would have to be the case. No shop would stay in business if they were always this lazy and/or uninformed.

I live in a very cold climate, about 40 miles from Canada and 10 miles east of MT....now that I am typing this, I don’t know why I live in this freezing cold area of the country....

Anyway, even with winter temperatures of -30, I still dilute my antifreeze. I think the max anti-freeze to water ratio I go is 60/40.

Running straight anti-freeze without dilution offers little protection over water alone. I believe the freezing point is around 10 degrees. However, once the anti-freeze is diluted with water, your freeze protection increases.
