Under hood blower fan?

I worked on mine today. that bluish wire was toasted. I grounded once and the fan started. after I hooked the wire to a permanent ground I didn't work. What went wrong?

After stripping the wire bundle that the blue wire comes out, I realized the wire was fried. I followed the wire until I found where the wire was broken. I replaced it, connected to the sensor and now is working.
