Does anyone have experience with this kit I found on Ebay? It's supposed to stiffen the frame by tying both sides of the frame in the center of the truck at various points. Sort of like the front shock tower brace. I like the idea and it's not too expensive but I also want to get the ARB under armor kit and I think I would have a problem installing both kits since they use similar mounting points. I sent a note to the sell on eBay but no response so far. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this kit. Thanks

With all due respect, where do you plan on wheeling your rig? Considering we're body on frame, we're already quite stiff. Adding steel plate sliders underneath will add a wee bit more stiffness, but beyond that, unless you'll be doing King of the Hammers or something like that, you're money may be better spent on other mods.
I've never heard/read of a forum member torquing their frame from any kind of off roading or trail riding.
But just my 2 cents.

What's the point? GX has a boxed frame already, those braces won't work with skidplates, and it looks like they mount on the bottom of the frame and hang pretty low so you're killing ground clearance.

If you wheel hard enough to need a stiffer frame, I’d reccomend a beefier skid system than the ARB. It’s 1/8 inch steel and bends easily. Not the best protection IMO.

Just having moved to the flatlands of Southwest Florida, there are no great natural offroad areas other then manmade parks. Actually the two kits serve different purposes. The ARB is to protect the soft bits underneath - I scraped a few last time at the park. The frame brace is more of onroad improvement. Typically the stiffer the body/frame the better control on road. I just don't know if there is a preceptiplne difference

Wow - somehow posted before I was able to finish thought. What I was trying to say is if there would actually be a perceivable difference with the frame kit. Sounds like the kits are both Band-Aids.

This?

NOt going to fit Prado / GX / 4Runner. We don't have that relief in the gas tank. Most transfer case skid come with additional cross member like that.

Unless you're building a track car out of your GX (which I support fully because that would be hilarious), there's no reason to try to stiffen the already boxed frame for on-road handling. Whatever extra stiffness the Ultra brace made from the same tubing they use for their EG Civic braces might add to a 5500lb truck isn't going to be noticeable through rubber bushings, body mounts, big tires, and squishy truck suspension.

Agree with Banandalorian, unless you drop the suspension, run 35 series tires and gut the interior, it won't matter.
You'll see/feel WAY more difference in the sidewall height (higher or lower) of whatever tires you go with than anything you would feel with something bolted under your vehicle.

Yeah I guess I will pass and focus on under body armor. Thanks for everyone's input.

No worries, we're here to help! (you spend your money) 😁

Yes and the money spending is continuing. I’m upgrading my brakes after I roasted them trailering a uhaul cross country. I’m going to install these bad boys.
