Anyone have or know someone with a place on the coast? We were hoping to take the kids to Tybee for Spring Break.

If you have a place or know someone please let me know.

I like Tybee, but you are better off staying in Savannah. Hotels are nicer and same price, if not cheaper. And from your hotel you can walk to restaurants and the parks and whatever. The hotels on Tybee are few in number and not very attractive. If you can find a rental house on Tybee, then that would be ideal, but I don't know anyone.

The wife and I took Henley to Jeykl island two years ago and it was great...we rented a place 50 yards from the beach...it was an older place but I think it was only like 600 bucks for the week, 2 bedroom living room full kitchen dining room table..... Best part was I took my little grill down there and there is a fresh seafood market back on the mainland and we got fresh seafood every night and either grilled or fried it up....beautiful island not crowded and nice beaches

2x. I'd go to Jeykl or St Simons.

When I lived in Ga. use to take the kids to Jekyll every chance we could. Stayed at a Comfort Inn that had an in-room jacuzzi. The kids would wear themselves out playing in it, then sleep through the night. That was 20 years ago. The wife and I rode through there last year on the way back from Fla and the place hasn't changed a bit. Except the new bridge from Brunswick; amazingly beautiful bridge. Also, loved playing the golf courses there and walking through millionaire village!

Been to Tybee several times, took the kids once. Check CL for a unused time share or possibly eBay. Last few places we have gotten that way for a reasonable rate.

jekyll is great!

just try to stay on the south end of the island

the beach is all underwater at high tide at the north end.

So long as the currents haven't changed the beach/sandbar area there is a really nice sand bar at the big public beach entrance and there are literally no waves at low tide. You can walk forever out into the water on the sand bar.

It's always nice seeing deer walking around at the beach!

And it's not all touristy....a few bars/resturants, a water park and a sea turtle rescue center.

No traffic or noise! A quiet little place...it is old but i consider it part of the charm.

Bring bikes and bike around the entire island. Bring bugspray, the mosquitoes will carry you away!!!

I almost forgot to mention the North Beach Grill on Tybee (next door to the lighthouse). Doesn't look like much from the outside, but you have a beach view and the seafood, burgers and drinks are great.

The Crab Shack right off US80 is also a good one with nice big decks overlooking the marsh. The boys will like this one - just a neat atmosphere. http://thecrabshack.com/photos.html

Reanna has been to that restaurant before last year and liked it. I think we may go to Jekyll this year just because it is a nice change of pace, a smaller place, a little less touristy/spring breakish.

house rentals are CHEAP at jekyll!!!

I give Jeykll my vote. The wife, dog and I go once a year. Very nice area with a water park at one end, a marina with boat ramp and good restraunts. We stay at the Ocean Side Inn and Suites, her dad has some ownership in it so its free!!! Also very pet friendly too, Sulllivan loves it!!!

Also they have great bike paths.
