I’m considering the sale of my rust-free, straight, running, reliable LC. It’s on Parting Out because it has 280k and I have a number of financial, family, and personal priorities and a lack of time to do the repairs that someone with more resources and time can do overnight. Given it’s running condition, my local LC specialist recommended listing some of the needed repairs and offering it for sale.
With some TLC, this can be reasonably restored as a first car for a new driver, a daily capable dry, sand, rain and snow vehicle, a rust-free platform for an overland project.
Mechanical
- steering bushing/alignment
Exterior
- Champaign silver color, clear coat near top edge of front quarter panels
- a 1” wide rock dent on driver side forward quarter panel.
- missing rear spoiler
- rear bumper dings from trailer hitch ups
- 2 front tires are BFGoodrich KO2. Rears are fine. Replace front 2 if in snow country.
Interior
- gray leather seats. lamb skin seat cover hides torn lower seat. Passenger side much better but needs intervention. Middle and rear fold-down seats are good
- deep cleaning of carpet, new floor mat for driver side
- remove or replace wood trim from heat damage
- replace MFD faceplate. All functions work.
Basically stock with upgraded tires, a DC Power 180 Amp alternator, Memphis Audio speakers, amp and bass amp, 10” external bass speaker.
Baselined maintenance:
- radiator, fan clutch, front bearings/races/seals, lubrication, tie rod ends, new a/c compressor 4 years ago, cold dual air and heat.
Timing belt recommended in 4000 miles.
