two types of solenoids with pics - what's the difference?

Solenoid pack on the left came with the T-Max EW10000, and the one on the right came with the Smittybilt XRC10.

The T-Max solenoids are about what I expected, but what is the single unit in the Smittybilt?

Ha Ha. But seriously, I doubt that smittybilt or T-Max build their own solenoids... the XRC-10's is a heavy cast metal. Curious if it is supposed to be waterproof or electronic or special somehow...

or is it just s***tybilt?

i highly doubt that. manufacturers get all the pieces from someone else and just assemble them.

The Smittybilt has a contactor... pretty much a higher quality solenoid. Good contactors can be rebuilt...
