I am in the process of replacing my head unit, and it appears that there are two antenna cables coming into the head unit, a standard size connection, and a smaller second connection. What do I need to do with this?

Also, I found the hot wire from the factory head unit for the antenna up/down function. Is it as simple as connecting my antenna lead from my new head unit to this wire? I heard it is more complicated than this.

Thanks in advance.

I think the smaller connector is for AM. You can just leave it unplugged.

The antenna power wire should connect right up to your aftermarket stereo and work fine. Probably a blue or striped blue wire on your new deck that it connects to. Might say ANT REM as a description on it.

I think 100';s have dual antenna, one in the front, one on the side glass.

Ya.. what land pimp said. Toyota has been doing this for many years. At least back to 87 as my old 87 supra had these. As does the current 89 supra, and the LC. Some diversified antenna BS they market.
