Turning off VSC.....

If I knew how to interpret it, I would check the wiring diagrams for VSC :-)
What about disconnecting the Skid Control ECU, would that disable too much or is skid control essentially VSC?

You do not want to disconnect Skid Control ECU. The best you can do is disable VSC by either run CD locked or faking it to Skid ECU. If you disable ABS, the front / rear brake proportioning will not work and that is dangerous.

I thought maybe that ecu only controlled VSC, but as you point out it controls a lot more: ABS, VSC, BA, and TRAC.

Another idea would be to take out the yaw sensor and just complete a cuircut. The truck would think it was plugged in but would never actually tell the truck something was wrong.

Is this switch necessary? With the center diff lock engaged while in low...it is the same...no?

I want to put the 98/99 locker switch plus two arb style for the front locker, and a Viair 450C. I only have two slots open so I would like to disconnect the VSC switch.

idea: cut the switch into the line connection the CDL solenoid. the truck will think you've locked the center but the solenoid will never move.

it's possible that the VSC doesn't disengage until a switch internal to the tcase picks up the change (I didn't take the time to look this up in the FSM prior to posting). if that's the case then you could simply ground the output of the sensor to make the truck think it's locked.

one of those two ways should cover you. there may be some risk in the VSC not being turned off when in 4lo depending upon your switch logic, just take the time to run through your strategy with the EWD to make sure you know how the truck will respond to all combinations of switch and lever.

I ask, because when im on pavement going up hills my vsc skid light beeps and lights up and it will lock up the tires for about 1/2 second. i think its the yaw sensor. this is extremely dangerous, its happened a few times. i thought it was one of the abs sensors/tone wheels, but its not. now im guessing its the yaw sensor.
