Evening everyone, I did a bunch of Searchin and I am still confused. I have a ct26 Supra turbo on my truck. Works great but has the 42101 turbine housing on it which means it spools a little late. I tried sourcing a 58010 or 58020 to get my turbo to spool faster. Got one on eBay from Kinugawa but I received a 17020 housing. Before I return it I wanted to make sure it actually does me no good. I see the interbwebs say that the part number is interchangeable with 58020/ 58010 which is what I need. Can someone shed some light? Thanks, happy thanksgiving!
Cheers

@mongoose2231 Yes, it will fit on your current 42020 CT26 supra turbo. The 17020 exhaust housing is just the 7cm version of the 42010 10cm supra housing you currently have. The 58020 also fits and that's a 8cm housing, they are all mix and match depending on what you're after. There's also a 9cm version which came with 12HT but I forget the exact number but it starts with 68xxx

I had a feeling it may fit. I guess the 17020 will make boost real down low in the rpm. I will experiment and see. My 2h be breathing fire, you watch...

You might have to remove or re-drill a spot for the locating pin on your current CHRA to allow the new housing to fit as they are clocked in a different position to each other but it's no big deal either way. It's just a locating pin for easier assembly and has no impact on how the housing bolts to the CHRA when removed.

Also there's another option which i've always wanted to test out which is the CT26 twin scroll 6cm housing from the 3sgte. Never seen anyone crazy enough to try it but it's always been on my list of things to eventually try.

I removed the locating pin alltogether when I clocked my turbo to make it work.
I am after early boost here. I had been advised before bout this. Guess it's time to make the change and see.

I have a question about the different housings. The mounting bracket position is not in the same spot. Is this a concern for strength? can the turbo be mounted without the bracket without issue?

This is the bracket I have in question. Is it needed for strength Structural integrity?

Does anyone know if the bracket for the 1HD-FT OR 1HD-FTE Are Different and could work?

I've been trying to find pictures online to compare the part numbers but nothing is coming up :(
