Have anyone on here swap a tundra rack on their GX470 or GX460? If any of you have, can you guys shed some light on the swap.

I have not, but @GXO has done the tundra swap. Check out his build thread. It’s lengthy and detailed with lots of pictures.Have anyone on here swap a tundra rack on their GX470 or GX460? If any of you have, can you guys shed some light on the swap.
Mine is a 200 series rack for RCLT. Very different things.I have not, but @GXO has done the tundra swap. Check out his build thread. It’s lengthy and detailed with lots of pictures.
My bad - thought you did the tundra rack swap for RCLTMine is a 200 series rack for RCLT. Very different things.
You have to cut your frame, weld in a new mount, usually have to replace or raise your motor mounts, and also cut them. Then work out your tie rod ends and so some intermediate shaft work.
200 rack is long/wider so there is less tie rod so I like the strength. The RCLT is designed with tie rods and linkages that don't cause the same bump steer as the factory ball joint setup does with the 200 rack. The Tundra rack is overall shorter (and these shortened ones are even shorter) so the factory geometry stays put and much less or no bump steer. We also added the steering rack reinforcements to both ends (weld in bracket to double sheer the mount bolts) and the center bracket reinforcement from marlincrawler that bolts into the crossmember and the rack. 6 total attachment points on the 200 rack we have in our GXes.My bad - thought you did the tundra rack swap for RCLT
Do you know if this swap will cause CEL or VSC acting up? Thanks!Im in the process of install a tundra rack on one of my friend GX470. I have both 200 and tundra rack on hand for test fit. AFAIK, 200 and tundra rack are pretty much identical in term of strength and length wise. 200 has 3 mounting holes while tundra has 2 mounting holes. They both has M28x1.5 inner rod and m22x1.5 outer rod thread. Inner rod is about the same length but tundra outer rods in about an inch longer.
As said above you do need to ZPC. The other thing to keep in mind is you will lose turning radius and the rate of turn and return on the Tundra (or 200 or any other) is different than the stock GX so it will feel different.Do you know if this swap will cause CEL or VSC acting up? Thanks!
