Tundra problems.......Transmission done?

I just finished installing a new rear differential, after failing to make it home on just fwd after the rear blew something broke and left me stranded... anyways 1st gear works. reverse works. 2nd nothing. and drive doesnt move? park works? havent drove it more than 3 feet (boxed in) could it be the linkage or somthing else?

So on a recently replaced rear diff it failed again..how many km's on the replaced rear diff before this happened?
So you try to limp it home in 4wd mode and then something gives and now it will only move in rev or 1st/low.

No idea what it has for interlocks but rather than a tranny problem I would think this scenario would have been harder on the T-case first.

What year of Tundra..the 01?

hey chewy uhh this all happend within the same hour rear diff broke put into 4wd (fwd) then on the way back something broke again,... bought new front and rear diffs installed the rear and now it wont drive in D or 2nd,.. 1st works and reverse, park, i think there was metal shaveys on the atf dip stick just dont want to believe it just yet it was just shineyness?...FML. transfer case is good who knows for how long though

Can any one clarify if an 2003-2004 toyota a340f transmission will work in my 01?
i emailed some one from ebay and they told me it wouldnt work dubT.F.?? i dont see why it wouldnt.. 4 spd auto v8

Don't really see why it wouldn't. Did they say why it wouldn't or just say it wouldn't?

Also didn't realize that transmission came behind the v8.

the wrecker 03 tundra from ebay has the 2uzfe same motor as my 01 with the a340f,

but i emailed the guy and it wasn't going to work "according to there interchange system" it has me stumped because its the same motor same transmission in my rig?

im 2 hairs away from buying it anyways i think itll work i just want to find a reason if there is one that it wouldnt bolt up plug in, and work 100% just because he/she said so judging from the model year???

new stuff hey.... it might be that it will bolt up but perhaps there are differences in the control of them or wiring harnesses..who knows....
maybe best to ask a dealer that has a good ol grey hair'd tech working for them.... I assume a wrecker will just have a database that says what goes with what but may not cross reference years that well
