on the road again....
I read Justdifferentials thread on the Tundra long travel suspension setup. I want to do this. I e mailed Justdifferentials and am waiting to hear from them. I'm sent them a list of my current build/suspension setup. So I am waiting to hear the necessary parts I will still need.

My goal is not necessarily 35's. But at least room for meaty 34's and improved travel.

Has anyone else done this setup. Not sure who to get advice from, parts and guidance from.

But it looks like it might be some fun. :))

Talk to @TexAZ, as I think he's running them (unless my brain is playing tricks on me again...seems to be happening a lot of late!). :hillbilly:

Are you trying to run the Tundra MT setup with stock width LCA or an actual Tundra LT kit? I’d think you’d need fenders to make it work since it’d be +8” total whereas the stock width Tundra LCA would be a +3” setup.

If you find a way to make the Tundra LT kit work, I’d be down to run it since I have a TC LT kit on the shelf.

well one things I don't want is a truck as wide as a Raptor. So no I am not interested in increasing the width by much.
I prefer to be able to fit through some trails. :)))
Same setup Justdifferntials did.
Haven't exactly figured out what it is called as you may have noticed. :))

Ahhh......thanks. Exactly what I needed

There is a thread dedicated to this swap. All part numbers and instructions

forum.ih8mud.com/threads/200-series-lift-using-tundra-front-ifs-and-icon-shocks.875255/#post-9887148

I was the second person to do the swap, bases on Brian jowetts experience.
Looks like you are in Houston.
Is so, try to get with @RS6tofj80 .
He has the tundra front. And a totally awesome truck. He's a good source local to you.

Aha....there you are @TexAZ Thanks for the link. That was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot,
Jim

yeah I know @RS6tofj80. Been exchanging some info with him on some other things. Forgot he had also done this.
That will definitely help having someone local that has also done this.
Cool beans......
Thanks,
Jim

I have em too. I run 34s. Details of all parts used are in my build thread. Love this setup.

@Blasst PM me if you want to drive my truck.... in town thru Wed. you can quickly decide if it's worth it......

What are the advantages of doing this as the amount of travel between the two seems minimal?

Slightly wider track width. PUSHES the wheels out away from the KDSS bar.
Commonality of tundra parts vs. Cruiser. Easier to find Shocks, cv axles, etc.

along with the wider stance and clearance to the KDSS, you also do pick up more wheel travel, but that does require hitting the offset and tire width right.... hencce my several sets of rims/ tires and spacers.... doing the Tundra front also mandates a rear spacer ( 1.25" roughly) to have the track width match..... so perhaps a bit more wheel bearing wear.

the arms also need to have the right / new bumpstops - mine are energy suspension front and rear now....

Got all excited, thought OP was going full on Tundra LT.

So what wheel and tire do you recommend?

Wider track and clearance can be had with lower wheel offsets right? Just trying to figure out if this is something of a must have performance mod in the future...

a lower offset wheel will extend the track width, but will also swing the tire into more of the front and rear of the wheel well.
Depending on how big of a tire you want to run, the KDSS relocation bracket will be necessary with off set wheels.

Many here are running aftermarket wheels with 25mm off set with great success.
it just depends on what you are looking to do with your truck.

4" lift, 35" tires, easier to accomplish with the Tundra conversion.
