Has anyone tried doing this swap, I've read the suspension geometry is close to the same. I'm looking to go to a coilover setup vs. the torsion arm setup. Forgive me if this has already been discussed, I've searched but came up with pretty much nothing

I don't mind doing some fab and little redesigning, just curious if it been done. Anything can be done with the right amount of time and money

Very true, however I think that when you start looking at it you'll realize a SAS may be easier. Someone in Russia converted the front to coilovers, but there's not much info available, and I doubt it was Tundra parts. There was a thread not too long ago about long travel IFS. I'd think some fab'd control arms made for the right size extended axle would be the way to accomplish serious IFS mods.

a simple coilover system should not be that hard if you wanted to... very common on Rover products with their prone to fail oem systems... we built many coil over dirt track cars and it's not alot more than getting the shock and right size/rate coil, plus they are fully adjustable they even make progressive coils, if you can get the clearances and fab the mounts it should not be rocket science

I think it goes further than that. I'd question whether the stock shock mounts are built to carry the weight of the vehicle. You also run into the issue with the upper control arm hitting the mounts which guys already have issues with on torsion bar setups. Once you try to get more travel out of the upper and lower arms you'll run into issues with the control arms hitting the mounts.

I'd be interested to see a true long travel setup for the 100. It should do pretty well if we can finally get away from the torsion bar setup.

That's the ultimate goal. Still doing a lot of research before I get to deep into it, but I'm really considering it

If you're serious, I'm seriously interested in seeing what you come up with. I'm personally in no position to be making such mods to my current daily driver, but this would also be my ultimate goal.

I'm actually doing a ton of research and got a few things I'm gonna try out. We will see what happens
