I don't see why not, especially on a trail rig. IIRC, this is one of many old farmer tricks on tubeless implement tires.....

I wouldn't hesitate - I'd think that this would provide somewhat of a beadlock at the same time. Granted, not much of one, but maybe a little.

pull the plugs and put patches in them.
cheaper than tubes.

X2------------Plugs are for trail fixs----Tubes don't do well with low pressure without beadlocks (rips off valve stems) plus i've seen how you drive. :steer:
