Well the day started off innocent enough. We had just 6 trucks show up and we ran Sidewinder 1st. Sidewinder went well even with one of our rigs mostly stock and open. We had some lunch and 4 of us headed for Bronco while the other 2 continued on the loop.

Our intent was to run Bronco Peak to Bronco Flat and avoid the BP Connector. By the time we figured out we were on the BP Connector it was too late to turn back...for 2 of us. :censor: :bang: The other 2 were able to turn back so the trail did not eat their trucks.

Here are some pics of the day:

Darrin made it.

I took a poor...very poor line.

Testing the sliders.

Mostly stock Taco on Sidewinder.

Yeah, we only had a few bad things happen on the connector trail. Both of our bumpers look like poo, I decided to run into the tree at the end of the trail with the back driver side of my truck, oh, and I didn't like my front passenger birfield too much, so I went ahead and broke it 50 yards from the end.

All in all it was a fantastic day:frown:

Looks like you had a good view on that poor line! :flipoff2:

Could not concentrate on the view with the seat cushion sucked into my ass! But now that I look at it....yes, very nice view. We anchored my truck to a Tacoma with a winch line to prevent me from going over.

BTW, is a towel really going to do the trick in controlling a winch line out of control? I think a floor mat would have been a little better choice, just a little better.
We had the towel at 1 end, and a fleece lined denim jacket near the truck with the winch. I think we were good :D

Nice!
So was it easier running your previous Tacomas compared to the 80 in that kind of terrain? :hhmm:

The trail had gotten MUCH worse than when we ran it with the Tacomas. The 80 is bigger too, so the hairpin turns were worse.

Not sure Darrin made it clear enough. The trail was MUUUUUUUUUCH worse this year.

I have found that the 80 is much more capable on that type of terrain. The biggest thing that the Taco was better at was the high speed desert stuff.

Sorry about the carnage but glad you guys could look at it in a good light. Just think, if all went smoothly you probably wouldn't remember the day much later on. :D

Yes, we will remember that day for a long time. We will also not make that mistake with that trail again.

I was hoping to talk you into running it again. :grinpimp:

If you mean Bronco Peak to Bronco Flat....sure. :D

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, bypass.....

I gotta find someone that will go with me. Obviously a good idea to have at least two rigs.

Sure, I will ride shotgun with you so you get some awesome pics of your rig...but I aint driving through that mess again.

Ah well, it was worth a shot. Next time I do get out there I just might take you up on that shotgun/photo offer. ;)

Next time you should do it in reverse:eek:

I think Sam with his Tube cruiser is your best bet.... Just because I am never going to have a :censor: lift it appears.... :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:
