Oil may be found leaking from the transfer case input or rear output shaft seal as seen in the example pictures below

EDIT: I guess not technically a TSB but something to be on the look out for.

I have this exact issue on the output shaft. I planned to top off the fluid and keep running it. The issue was identified on a 2018 at approximately 38k miles and the vehicle currently has 50k miles.

Is this tech tip something the dealer ship will cover?

A few photos after wiping off the excess (one small accumulation point). I have not noticed any drips on my garage or concrete driveway so it is minor seeping at this point.

Assuming it's still under warranty, they should. And especially if it's leaking enough to leave drops in your garage!!

+1… if still under warranty you could have them check it out. This could also secure coverage on affected part after warranty if it becomes more active leak than a weep or seep in the future.

Thanks for posting this. I'll need to look at it next oil change when the skids come down.
If you're going to wait till next oil change, keep an eye on all your (oil) fluids till then. Check them maybe once a week or so.

No direct experience, but my understanding is that Toyota will only approve a warranty repair if there is an actual drip… seep doesn’t count.

Owning a 2F and 1FZ-FE has immunized me from oil seeps and drips. I consider it "undercarriage auto-rustproofing"...

Yeah, no. I just conducted a full 60K service of all fluid except the T case and diffs. A 5000 mile interval of inspection is plenty for a current NON issue. Great info to be aware of just like valley plate coolant leak, not checking that weekly either.

I assume this doesn't apply to my 2013? I was just looking through records from MyLexus and found this:

TRANSFER CASE INPUT SEAL/PLATE LEAKING- REPLACE SEAL AND PLATE.

Declined at 96k miles.

I had the fluids changed right after I bought it and the shop where I did it didn't say anything. Not at the car now. But what is my next step is there's a leak?

You can try adding some AT-205 to the TC, which usually does a really good job of restoring the seals and slowing the leak down. It made my rear main seal stop dripping/seeping, so it's worth $20 before moving on to an actual repair.

Hmm so that's oil, brake, coolant, kdss?
Nothing on the KDSS. I've never seen any scheduled servicing for the KDSS.

Power steering fluid as well. When you drain the coolant ensue you drain the block.

Thanks, I'm back home so I'll see if I can inspect this week.

Yeah I did the PS, Diffs, TC, Transmission at 60k. Figured I would do the coolant this winter as well. I haven't seen anything on the KDSS either, but it's hydraulic fluid and you would think it would need service just like any other system? hmmm
