Hello,
My name is Marcus. I try to help a friend with all kind of electric (problems).
He is owner of a land cruiser (BJ73).
The board electric consists of 2 12V batteries in row. So we have 24V board voltage.
Because the old alternator was defect he bought a new one. He did not get an original. So we decided to use a:
100210-2860+
The reseler told us that the alternator delivers 24v on 50Amp.
To "protect" the batteries we use New-Era AVR-512
But this setup seems to work only for some time. We are running the second regulator (same type) and both are defect afer some time.
One on the contacts on one of the relais are "burned together", so that the relais cannot switch back.
I found an old thread (dec 08. 2013). There was a message from bj40green with a lot of information about the regulator stuff, but most of the links did not work anymore and the linked youtube video is set to private.
Is there a regulator who better fitts our needs?
Sorry, for my not so perfect english.
Thank for your help,
Marcus
