I have the opportunity to pick up a truck this weekend an ‘89 60 series. I called and talked to the owner ( he accepted my :princess: offer) he said it runs but has a knock down low and he blew a break line on it last weekend driving it around the block after it has been setting for 3 years. Any suggestions on where to get break lines for a 62 and should I stay away from this deal with an engine knock? I was considering this for a parts truck but would like to use it until mine gets here from Japan, maybe even sell it to another Cruiser Head in the future if she is better than a parts truck.

If it is a hard line that broke, simply drop by the parts store and pickup a length with Japanese metric fittings. If it is a softline and you can't find it in stock at any of the local parts stores; NAPA can have it to you that afternoon / evening if you order it in the morning.

You have to figure the motor may be toast so pay accordingly. You can see the rust in the truck from the picture which means it gets worse the deeper you will dig. In the hopes of salvaging the motor I would have it towed to where it needs to go, drop the oil pan and inspect the bottom end before I did anything else to it. Let us know what you find.

I have two front brake hoses that will work on a 60 series, braided steel, from Man-A-Fre. I've been trying to sell them for a little while. I bought them by accident thinking they were longer than the 40 series hoses.

So i will not be picking it up as I had hoped.
