Troubleshooting sunroof (12 Viewers)

Hey guys when I press the open or tilt button on my 2000 LC sunroof I hear the motor for 0.3 seconds and then nothing…no movement… is this a common problem ?

yes , its common. what probably happening is the cables are frozen with rust / debris . I rebuilt mine, and the parts are still available, well at least they were a year ago. Its a very labor intensive job because the headliner and sunroof assembly have to come down , but its not overly difficult.
