Since I have a Troopy, I'm super tuned into them and took photos of every one I saw at Expo. Thought I'd share.

This one is Maltec. Turbo 1HZ, 80-series chassis, really nicely done, but expensive.

From another vendor's booth (sorry, didn't get the name and the car was unattended and closed up every time I stopped by). Looks like 4.5 petrol?

From Nitro Gear. Trakka poptop from Australia.

This one belongs to 'Mud member Umpqua. His build is documented on a thread here--LHD, 1HD-T, Alu-Cab top, Goose Gear interior. Super nice truck. Sorry I didn't get a photo with the top up.

Found this one in the "Owner's Rigs" section of the show. LHD, 1HZ, coil sprung front axle.

This one was in the campground.

This one was in the campground, too. 'Mud member owned.

And this one's mine. Parked near the entrance on Saturday, so got lots of comments.

If anyone saw any others that I missed, post them here!

Hi Steve, great to see you at Expo and thanks for posting the pics.

I've posted below a pic of the truck at the Goose Gear booth. Also a couple more shots of the Maltec truck. Nice for sure but as mentioned with a nice price tag as well.

Expo West was a lot of fun. Got to meet in real life some folks I've met in the virtual world. I recommend the show but it's one hell of a LONG drive from Portland, OR. For sure.

And another thing.....the Troopy that Steve has appears to have been living in some sort of time capsule. Right off the show room floor.

Maltec has yet to return my calls and emails about that interior. CO is closer than Cali for goose :-)
Alas people are too busy to take my money it seems

At this time, Maltec only builds in Germany.

1HZ or 1HD?

The guy at the booth said it was a brand new crate 1HZ with aftermarket turbo. No reason to doubt him, but didn't get a look at it to verify.

This is consistent with what they told me when I asked if, since I already have a Troopy, I could just buy the poptop. They suggested I ship my Troopy to Germany to have it converted, then ship it back to the USA. Not a super practical alternative. Wish they'd just sell me the top, or start a shop here in the USA for conversions.

I wish they would sell the interiors :-)
