just thought i would post up some pics of the troopie i finally got in from Oz...

360K but looks and drives like 50K

looks like a JDM truck underneath and inside.

a build will be starting next month. look in the 70 series section.

the owner has just over $20K CND into it with shipping and customs.
i have seen higher priced ones in poorer condition but didn't expect it to be this nice. a pleasent surprise after the major headaches dealing with the Oz boys. i thought this area was laid back but WOW!! the Ozzies are even more relaxed.
we bought just before i took the HZJ40 to SanFran and it arrived in Ontario about 3 weeks back. i thought once the truck was on the float life of frustration was over but NOOO, i needed another piece of paper from Oz and that took a week and a bit to arrive by fax.

oh well, it was worth the effort. now i am shopping half-heartedly for one for me. the difference between this one and the one that was here before is the difference between a Chevette and a Corvette in quality, performance, ride and quiet.

cheers

cool, wow, they are rare indeed, and in that condition and the way it drove...double wow! yeah, i remember that other one from nicaragua was it? night and day.

g'luck with the build wayne, i'll be watching!

was just drooling over the 2010 troopies from the OZ toyota website, lol. love the troopy gxl with 5 seats. didn't know that they came like that too, thought they were all 11 seat bench seats in the back...cool.

hey this truck was like new was there on the weekend for the chop and went for a spin around the block in it i am sooooo jealous feels like new to me ! definitely worth every penny . i would wait a year for a truck that nice !!
cheers wayne looking fore ward to the build .

i think that bumper will be perfect for this area, the deer are deadly here...
it will be going on one of my trucks.

Seriously you have too many cruisers.....
He has a 70 series pick up, a sweet pzj70 and now a troopy!?!? your missing a 77.
I am truly jealous.... I really like troopies but they aren't fit for my lifestyle.
33s or 35s on the pzj70?

well, i do have a halfbreed 77/78 (a 77 with coil suspension and lower gears)
the PZJ70 hard top was running 32s for DD and the 36s for off road.
now the PZJ78 is runnng the 32s
the troopie, pickup and BJ70 rag top are all stock.
the PZJ70 ragtop is running the 35s and even unturbo'd that motor moves the truck nicely at 100k/h but is lacking at 140. a turbo would fix that but then that is 60 over the posted speed limit so i would lose the truck, license and a $10,000 fine so no need to go there.

my next Land Cruiser will be a Mega Cruiser ... once i win Lotto Max that is...

You are going to have to share the lotto max with me - there is more than enough to go around. That mega cruiser would be awesome to have around - that would freak the hummer lovers out.

Troopies are cool. a big landcruiser bus. I couldn't imagine one fully loaded in a strong wind going up a hill, turbo or not. You'd want to have it geared up just right for whatever tire size is going on. The twin turbo V8 would probably get it along nicely though??
