I have posted in the diesel section as I am looking for a diesel cruiser to carry a family. The Troopies keep catching my eye, but the sidewall rear bench seats wouldn't be too safe for the kiddies sooooooo... has anyone seen, heard of or installed:wrench: rear bench seats that run perpendicular to the body??

Go down to the FJ45 Owners Club area and root around, at least a couple of folks have posted on changing out the rear seat configuration in different ways.

I currently have a heep rear seat bolted to floor with the front fold-downs removed. Works ok for the kids but sits low so they can't really see out which is sometimes an issue. Putting in a different arrangement is on the list for this summer based on ideas from the 45 area.

The BJ44s out of Japan and the LX42s from OZ come with a 1/4 side seat with a full bench seat it forms a horseshoe seating arrangement in the back,I have only seen pictures the bench folds off to the side for more cargo starage,I have tried to get my hands on these 44s but they don't come cheap out of Japan .
Check with that importer in Georgia he is always on EBay and brings in from OZ and I have seen him selling some cruisers with the bench seat arrangement
