Ok so here's the deal now...

Got some choices. Intially, I was running the stock 4speed to the 2.28 toy box to the splitcase. I decided to swap over to TH350 and while the toybox and transfer case is out I want to make some more changes.

Right now my thoughts choices:

Swap the 2.28 in the toybox for 4.7... which is pretty straight foward OR

keep the 2.28 in the toybox and ADD a truck box with 2.28 to the transfer since I have the length to do so. Lots of gear choices with three shifters.

The price is about a wash between the 4.7 gears and adding the truck box.

Whatcha think?

4.7 gears..

3 tcases introduces a lot of slop and parasitic power loss.

lol... that's kinda where I'm out too. definately would have something in the unique category. The power loss isnt much of a concern as I'm running all this behind a small block.... the slop factor does concern me however.

Not exactly unique. Marlin had his truck set up like that when I first met him a Rubithon '97 He'd be chatting with folks leaning against the bed of his pickup that was idling and slowly inching forward. Every couple of minutes he'd casually reach in a pull the shifter from 1st to reverse and go back to the conversation. The truck would only travel a dozen feet between shifts.

I'm not out to get any awards for being unique or anything.... I'm not even saying it'll be the only one like it. just thought it might be cool (if it would work well) to have tripple cases in a full bodied FJ-60. :)

With an automatic and triple cases i bet in low-low-low you would pull though the brakes.

done 3 mini cases before in a mini, gay and slow in low. 2 be sufficient.

ah... I like to be different and special :grinpimp: but I think I am going to keep it simple especially knowing that its going to be at LEAST a month before the right adaptors would be available. It would be cool but I dont want to be out the money either if it doesnt work out. Oh well... :)

You should do it and if its too low you can send me the extra case.

depends on the ratio's of course..

Just the t-case ratio

2 cases 2.8 and 4.7 would be 10.7
3 cases at 2.28 would be 14.5
3 cases 2.28 and one 4.7 would be 24.4
3 cases 2.28 and two 4.7 would be 50.4
3 cases all at 4.7 would be 103.8 Or about a 1,280:1 Crawl Ratio :D :zilla: Not including tourqe converter multiplication

I would just Stick with 2 cases, a 2.28 to a 23 spline 4.7.. gives out a bunch of options and plenty low!
