Is anyone familiar with either fixing or replacing the trip counter in a 94. My odometer still works but the trip meter won't go pass 4.3 miles.

Typically what happens is that the reset arm fractures, if it is broken the numbers don't turn correctly. When I bought mine it had the same issue. I spent an afternoon tearing it apart and trying to fix it. The problem is I think I must have dripped some glue on the gears when repairing the arm, and after re-install, NOTHING worked.

I ended up buying a used speedo from cruiserparts with a similar milage as my stocker. I think this is your best option.

I had the same problem with my 94. As Doc mentioned I also gained access to the broken arm in the gauge and used ABS plastic epoxy. If you go this route make sure while you're in there to trim off the small nub on the reset rod and smooth the speedo frame where it rides on as well. Also because the part will never be quite as strong DO NOT reset the mileage when the vehicle is moving as you stand a greater chance of re-breaking the arm (I know because I did it inadvertently). I wish I had taken pics but it's not a difficult job just a little time consuming.
