Treadwright Tire Opinions

Considering the tires I replaced were 7 years old, I feel pretty comfortable running these. That being said, I can see myself being more vigilant in maintaining and monitoring them for potential problems.

I'm sure the casings on my Treadwrights are newer than the back tires on my other rig which I bought used 5 years ago. Blowouts are very rare. Life is fatal. :meh: Maybe I'd feel differently if I was daily driving it, or driving around babies or something. I'm not. It's a wheeler that I put 2000 miles/year on.

A friend of mine has had his for two years or so 265-75-16 guard dogs, they are on a V8 dakota that gets the crap driven out of it, they only get loud when he goes beyond his rotation increment. He has NO complaints what so ever.

I ordered the Guard Dogs- 285-75-16's for my 60 last Sunday and they have the new rubber from bead to bead, I will post pics and initial opinion when I get them mounted.

I mounted up some new B2B's on Wednesday. 285/75r16 Gaurd Dogs on 16x7 Taco rims.

Initial impressions - Grip like mad. Balanced good. Drive great, no pulling. Loud though.

My tires arrived today. Initial impressions are good. I like the bead to bead retreading they are using now. Not sure if it will increase reliability or not. The tread measured 17/32nd and looks like the perfect level of aggression for my needs. Not sure what a 265/75R16 tire weights in other brands but I put mine on my scale just in case anyone was interested.

Tire 1: 54 lbs 8.5 ounces or 872.5 ounces
Tire 2: 54 lbs 13.0 ounces or 877.0 ounces
Tire 3: 55 lbs 7.0 ounces or 887.0 ounces
Tire 4: 55 lbs 11.5 ounces or 891.5 ounces

So this means 19 ounces or 1.1875 pounds difference from the lightest to the heaviest. Thoughts on this as I've never weighed four tires before and have no actual data to compare these numbers to.
