Those do look interesting, wish they made a 33 10.50 or heaven forbid a 9.50 15.

Ed,
Thanks for posting this link. They did a nice job of reviewing the tires, although it would have been nice to see how they performed over more than 3000 miles.

I'm on the bubble about getting a set of these for my 40. I use the 40 to drive around town but try to stay off the freeway, and most of my use is for the desert and the back country. I worry a little because a front tire blowout on the 40 might be catastrophic at 55mph on the road.

Have you tried these on either of your trucks?

I bought a set of 31x10.5 for my 4Runner back when they were called MTG and cost $80/tire!

I ran them for about 20k miles (mostly highway :crybaby:) and they were absolutely fantastic. Good grip in the snow and mud. Typical MT road noise. Still lots of tread left when I sold it 3 years ago. I talked to the guy I sold it to a couple months ago: the 3.0 blew up, but the tires are still going strong. :D

My buddy has them on his JK, and I haven't heard him complain about them.

I guess I should have said that I run a set of 315/75-16s on 16x7 soft-8 rims. I don't think they have 3000 miles on them yet. Maybe including towing. They're awesome. Maybe a little loud, like Gumby said.

I got mine on a promotional deal for pimping them with some stickers and promo material at Surf&Turf. I have had the Treadwright banner ever since and continue to pimp a great product at every opportunity. Joel and Co. got their money worth out of that deal. :)

I regularly drive at 75mph on the freeway and flat tow up to about 70mph. I don't see why they're any more likely to separate or blow out than any other tire.

Aired down to 14psi at Rubithon:

awerite, I'm off the fence now. thanx for the R+D gys!

Also, for what it's worth, I have a buddy in Bozeman that plows snow in the winter and runs Treadwright tires with Kedge Grip on his trucks and won't buy anything else.

I had a set on my 3rd gen 4runner and loved them, I also told a few guys at work about them and 3 guys run them on their trucks (daily drivers) and have no complaints. Wear like iron, one guy said he had 50k+ on his and only replaced them because he moved up to 315's.

That being said I did run into a problem, when I tried to get them mounted the kid at Discount tire looked at the side wall and noticed that the tread pattern didn't match the type of tire it was. They wouldn't mount them because they were retreads. I was looking at them again for my F350 and the price has gone up. So much so that I ended up buying normal tires just to avoid the hassle and if I have problems I can find the nearest Discount tire and have them repaired or replaced with the protection plan. For big tires 33+ you would still save a ton.
