TRD oil filter, first impressions (1 Viewer)

OK,

Got me a 00602-90915-007 today. (List $9.48 )

Well, Im not impressed. It is the same size as the original 15600-41010 large filter. (List $12.33). It looks just like a Motorcraft FL1A. It has a flat gasket as opposed to a lubricated o-ring seal. The base is two piece as opposed to one in the 15600-41010. The thread depth is about half what the OEM filter has, and the threads are not as "clean". This is interesting: The TRD filter weighs 14.9 oz on our postal scale, the OEM weighs 21.8 oz. Quite a difference.

I have yet to cut it open, that comes next.

When you cut it open, through some bits in B's driveway so he'll wonder what they are. also a few drops of oil so he thinks the Pris has a leak.
