Too far north. Too far east.
This remains a mystery. It's not the first time. I have no idea which neighbor is the culprit.

Yesterday was trash day. Before going to work I checked the blue recycle can and the trash can to see if I needed to put them on the curb. I didn't, and I probably had at least two or three weeks worth of space left in the cans.

I just took a bag of trash out from the kitchen, lifted the lid on the trash can ... and it was empty. EMPTY! Then I checked the blue can and it too was empty. I have no idea why one of my neighbors would take it upon themselves to place my cans on the curb after I leave for work, and make sure they are in the backyard before I get home. This is the second time. The first time I noticed because the trash can had been moved.

Do they think I'm not going to notice? I used to lock the gate to the side yard. Think I'll start again.

Cruiser content. I drove the 4Runner to work yesterday and checked the cans before getting in.

If you are leaving them in there multiple weeks.. it may be creating a stink, which they were trying to handle without confronting you.

I'll go out on a limb and say they think they are doing a favor for you.

I'd agree with that. Why else would someone do that? Do they have doors or windows or a patio close by where you store your trash?

I thought of that. If they could smell it, so would I.

So, you're bitching because someone took out the trash for you?

Maybe the title of this thread should be "Un-trashy Neighbors" or "De-trashing Neighbors".

Maybe the feds are thinking you are some sort of international spy with all the radio talk and building Da'40 up in the garage and they stole your trash for evidence???

Why complain?

Jon just throws away such cool stuff that his neighbors fight over who gets to go through it each week....

I thought about the feds angle, but they always put mine back exactly the same way it was.

:whoops:

Maybe a rookie went through his trash and did not think about the attention to detail?

You might have a neighbor that has more trash than their barrel will hold and they know that yours are never full. So they add to your barrels and then feeling guilty put them out on the curb so that they are dumped and you don't know that they're using your excess space. A couple time I've added a bag to a neighbor's bin that was already at the curb.

I think we have a winner! This makes more sense than all the other theories combined...

Today is trash day. I put out my trash can, and the blue recycle can, then went out running errands. I took today off. When I came back there was stuff sticking out of the blue can. Upon inspection it appears it had an additional contribution while I was away.

I don't mind if they add to the can when it's sitting on the curb. I just take issue when they come into the backyard, add to my cans, put my cans out on the curb, then return them before I come home.

We don't get blue recycle cans. They told us to put recycle items in clear bags and put them on the curb. How do we get the blue recycle cans?
