This is what happens when you put a transmission from a 1987 22R pickup into a 1987 22RE 4Runner. :bang: Wednesday is take two. Next monday is front differential. This is all Wambus's fault. Clean fuel injectors is also on the list... there's also the very real possiblity I won't be coming to FG this year... $$$ issues.

I'm gonna have the same issue when I swap the R151F turbo tranny in. Time to bust out the cutoff tool! It's only sheetmetal.

2nd that but he got all wimpery :crybaby:when we talked about doing it:rolleyes:kyle you pussy:flipoff2:

We would've needed to cut the floor to get the shifters to fit, but also drill and file new holes for the boot to fit, it would've been more of a pain in the a$$ than it's worth. We just took it back out and put in a different tranny from Nate's back yard and it works fine.

Nat, go eat a bag of dicks. Doing something the right way if it takes a day longer as opposed to hacking up metal isn't pussing out, how about I come over there and put holes in the floor of your 80? I'd rather have my s*** work and look normal, you should know this.

Nate and I tossed a different tranny in the next day, took three hours and it's working fine.

Wait what? dude, you dont stop driving your truck long enough to fix anything right! Hows that head gasket doing anyhow? How long since that front end blew up? Break line/master still leaking?

Kyle, try reading the FAQ over on POR and this wouldn't have happened, its what I would consider 'basic toyota knowledge'

Carb tranys and EFI are difrent even if they bolt up, just come clean and admit that you tried to get away with what you had availble at the time... :grinpimp:

I'll fully admit that I don't know everything about what you consider "basic toyota knowledge", but i'll also admit all three of us wrote off a forward shift setup working in a 4runner... it dawned on us when i saw it in the cab. Head gasket's doing fine, front diff is getting swapped out in the next few days, haven't needed 4x4 since then... the brake lines are fine, but the master has been replaced 3 times and still turns black and loses pressure, still gotta figure that one out. Still, I don't like the idea of hacking metal if it doesn't need to be done.
