Working on my 93 resurrection project. The truck sat in the woods for 4 years and I now have it running and stopping, however when you put the shifter in D, the truck is starting off in either 3rd or 4th gear. If I shift to 2, it'll start in second. Shift to 1, starts in first. You can manually shift through the gears fine as well. I'm thinking it's either the solenoid or the safety switch, but need to get underneath to see if there's corrosion or other stuff going on. Anyone run into this before?

If you can manually shift it’s most likely the solenoids. Transmission troubleshooting page attached. It helps a lot.

Ok bringing this back. Solenoids 1 & 2 were tested and are fine, which according to the troubleshooting guide would have been bad. Next step I’m going to look at the wiring harness
