Ok this could be as simple as a low level of transmission fluid or a software issue or.a major transmission problem but I experience this jerk whenever I am in slow traffic and come to a stop. There is a jerk when the transmission downshifts before the stop.... I have complained to the dealership but it's taking them forever to give me a remedy...the transmission seems to perform well otherwise...

What year, which transmission?

That sounds like the rough-shifting transmission issue that is part of a TSB. Run a search on MUD using transmission TSB as the search term. Several threads will come up, including the TSB number.

This may have nothing to do with transmission. Drive shaft may need to be greased up. There are grease fitting that you need 3-5 pumps of grease into each.
My was doing this and felt like a transmission but had nothing to do with it. Rough shifting would be more visible during regular drive and especially accelerating in higher RPM.

Car is brand new! Vdj200 6 speed auto. Jerk does not happen when accelerating. Only happens when coming to a stop when driving slow...

The TSB referred to was for the 8 speed.

I agree - it does sound like the ‘driveshaft clunk’.

My was brand new too. I bet it is a driveshaft which needs greasing. Stop by a dealer or pump it yourself.
