I’ve got 237,000 miles on my LC200, last transmission service was at 105,000 miles. I’m not having any issues with the transmission just looking to get it serviced but with all my reading sounds like this is frowned upon sometimes with the higher mileage. My local dealership will do the fluid exchange 12.6 QTs..no filter replacement.. any thoughts…

Lexus dealership do not want to get near the transmission fluid. One even advised against fluid exchange.

I have had the full fluid exchange at 85k ant Toyota dealership. And now I am at 176k.

Make sure the proper procedure is followed.

@ryanCA is correct. Long live the six speed.

What is considered the proper procedure?

A few months back I had mine done. A full fluid exchange with dropping the pan and replacing the screen / filter thing. 2013 LX with 93k miles on it with original fluid. Shifts under load seem to be a bit smoother but otherwise no issues before or after.

Done at a Toyota dealership for roughly $580 if I remember correctly.

Did your service consist of only a fluid exchange? Lexus dealer near me says they don’t normally mess with the filters…
always fluid exchange

2 filter changes in almost 300k miles

This truck of mine I wrote about above - will see documented 500k miles on this forum with routine maintenance

I have few 600-700k mile LCs at my farm - so certainly not my first rodeo

the trans has to be filled through the overflow plug and you temp needs to be within a certain range. its easier to change out the fluid when its cold because its easier to warm the trans up to the correct temp vs. cooling it down to the correct temp. or just measure what comes out when its hot then put the same amount back in
