No guarantees but I'm gonna talk to Tiff about maybe coming up on Saturday. I need to get my air-bags installed before taking the trailer anywhere though. We shall see.

While the early start Friday might be awkward for most working folks we started early to ensure a good campsite at Adams Lake and because the OP had set the early Friday start time I just stayed with that. So far there are not many committed to this run so it looks like no one will miss "the group". I think the description on how to get there is good and hopefully no one will have trouble finding the lake. But please, if you have not been there before get a good map. Even the Delorme Gazetteer for Colorado shows the roads to get there.

Jonathan, hope you and your crew can make it too. If your installing the airbags inside the coils try doing it w/o removing the springs. Let rear droop fully, deflate bags, soap them thoroughly and push thru the coils. It is hard but critical to get the airline just right so it doesn't get pinched off. Good luck.

Bob Brown is going to join us with his FJ Cruiser towing one of his self built Aspen Trails trailers.

Because of the heavy rain moving into the area I am moving the start time back to 12 noon. This hopefully give the trail some time to dry out. Call me if any last minute questions at two seven zero two one seven three nine three five.

Hey Ace, are you still meeting up at the Tram parking lot before heading up the trail? If so I might pop in and say hello, haven't had the chance to run into you on any of the drives yet.

Have fun in the mud today! Im gonna sit this one out.

Nice Daniel. Good to see that you made it over and that Adam's lake was beautiful as always. Was it a coincidence that you met up with Ace?

Oh and Happy Birthday Ace!

Very nice! Super funny!

Total coincidence. Cruiser Karma. Great fun to be with Ace celebrating his birthday.

Yes it was a coincidence BCC and Rising Sun met there but it really made the weekend for me. Because of complications with leaks on Bob Browns trailer we got there late but still ran into Ryan and Eric who stopped by for a visit. We headed up the TT about 2:00 and found it a little slick from the previous nights rain. We were doing good until we hit the steep and rocky climb about a mile below Windy Point. I got up ok thanks to the new Duratracs which did great all weekend. But Bob could not find enough traction to get the trailer up do we had to do a double winch (mine and his). It had stated pouring and hailing just before this obstacle and the ground was truly slick as ice, walking nearly impossible. During the winching I had 3" of hail pile up on my hood! Onward up the trail but then I missed a turn and when I realized my error it was getting late so we spent the night at White Owl Lake. The next morning Bob was having trouble breathing due to altitude so he headed down Coffee Pot Rd and home. I backtracked and came into A---- Lake via the southern loop. Arriving in the clearing at lakeside I could see it was quite full so got out to look around. That's when I encountered Daniel and Scott from Rising Sun and Cruise Moab. We were visiting when Alpendubber (Eric) pulled in. Here I was expecting to have a quiet birthday alone and it turned to be a fun and memorable evening. The next day Scott and Daniel fixed a great breakfast of fish tacos with trout straight out of the lake. By early afternoon camp was empty. I did some hiking and photography and later enjoyed a nice quiet fire. Broke camp on Monday AM just before the rain started. Earlier I had posted that the drive from A---- Lake out to New Castle would be difficult but my recall was in error. The more difficult section is going east towards Heart Lake. But still there are plenty of mud holes and rocks and several steep climbs but I made it out to New Castle with no problems. It was a great trip and I really want to say thanks to Scott and Daniel for the hospitality.
