transfer case - what goes here (1 Viewer)

The spacer on some 4 speeds had a brace in the casting that accepted a bolt through this hole into a tapped hole in the brace. If your spacer (on the back side of the tranny) doesn't have the bolt hole you probably should plug that hole. There is no hole here in the tcase from a H55 or an auto tranny.

mine does -- i wonder if i dont put the bolt in what will happen -- i just am not sure which bolt went in there --- i could tell by the others because they still looked new --

found out more info -- there needs to be a bolt in a 4sp fj60's --- in the green circle of the link posted - this would have caused the transmission oil to move to the transfer case -- which was my problem

Yeah, to clarify Clints post for anyone else, it needs to be "plugged" in any installation. (as does everything else between the tranny and t-case).

With an h55 install you need to plug it, with a normal 4 speed, you need to bolt it to the transmission.
