trans slip

an 85 4runner i'm looking at has a little transmission slip. how hard is this to fix? new tranny? should i plan of swaping in a 5 speed? thanks

Slush boxes should slip a bit. Does it just shift slow? You can adjust your TV cable. It should be next to the throttle cable on the carb/throttle body. Tighten it up a bit and see what you get.

Regular servicing usually overcomes slipping, unless it is stuffed.

What colour is the tranny fluid?
