Okay I know it's been covered fairly recently, but I can't seem to find the thread where it was discussed. What's the spline count on the A440F's output shaft? I'm putting together a shopping list for the NV4500 conversion to find out how much I need to budget for the project. I'm pretty sure it's 19 spline, but I wanted to make double sure. I looked in Tech and didn't find it either.

If memory serves correctly, I'll also need a late model 40 series slave cylinder (According to AA), clutch MC and pedal from a 60 (or would it be wise to get the matching MC from whatever 40 I get the slave cylinder from?), a Dodge 10" clutch and pressure plate, and I'll need to replace my flywheel. Will a flywheel from a 60's 2F be the right way to go for what I'm doing? I think I'm the first to attempt a 3FE/NV4500 combo...

You swapping the auto for a stick?

I am doing the opposite on my 60, wanna trade pedals? You can have the master and slave too..

I also have a spare FW (I think )

Hells yeah I'll trade. Are the clutch and brake pedal one assembly or are they seperate? I have what looks like a clutch pedal mount on my firewall inside the cab, but dunno if it's what I think it is. I can post a pic here for comparison if I can find my camera's damn card...

I'll try to get pics of mine. I know a person that did that exact thing and used the stock pedals. So I think it will work just fine.

Shipping on the FW will suck tho..

know anyone coming out to Nellis?

I missed out on a two day trip because of a class I was in a few weeks ago

HOw much does it weigh? I imagine it ain't light...

at least 20 lbs I think...

20 lbs. doesn't sound too bad. I can paypal the money to you if you wanna ship ground. I found out today that there were three other Nellis trips going out next week but they had already all been snatched up by the fawkers on the previous shift

lol

Any of them friends?

Unfortunately no. Go figure, huh? I found the pic I took of the pedal mounts, so I'll post that up once I get back from an appointment this morning.

Still haven't been able to find out for sure what the spline count is on my tranny's output shaft. AA lists kits for three different spline counts but I have no idea which is the right one. I still haven't been able to find a Mcnamara gear for when I do the tcase rebuild (which should be my primary focus, but I figured why not at least start pricing the 5-spd swap and collecting the small misc. parts now).

Should be 19 spline

AA should list the older 3 speed tcase
The older 4 speed tcase
And the newer 4 speed split tcase

Yeah they list it as 3 spd, and two 4 spd options with two different spline counts.

Here's how my pedal bracketry is set up. I take it that hole outline is for the clutch MC pushrod? Is this the same way your pedal mounts are set up in the 60?

Looks dam similar. I can snap a pic of mine tonight.

You have the later, split tcase spline count with is 19 :)

The adapter will varry by which NV4500 you actually end up getting. the Chebby one, or one of the two dodge ones.

But you have the 19 spline output.

BTW, I will say right now, I doubt my pedals are quite that clean...

I'm hoping to get my hands on a Dodge 4WD one if I can. Not quite so steep of a 1st gear, so I can actually use it. There's a shop out in the valley here that sells tons of 4500s so I'll be checking them out once I have the time and money to do the conversion.

Man, I just took a look at what it would actually take to pull the pedals out of my rig...

SERIOUS PITA..

Spook, I might renig on my offer amigo.. That looks like a bunch of work that I don't want to do..
