So I thought I'd share, even though I feel kinda dumb in talking about what I learned. Have had the 80 for a few years, and only recently drove another one. Was amazed at how much better an 80 could accelerate if the tranny kicked-down correctly. Even though the tranny kick-down cable seemed adjusted correctly, I played around with it for awhile, but couldn't get it to kick down correctly. Seriously bummed - I was looking forward to the free extra power! While sitting in a plane this week, it occured to me that maybe the throttle cable could be out of adjustment? I had time to play with it this afternoon and discovered that the throttle cable had 3/8" of slack...fixed that and now it kicks down just like a champ!
