So I bought a plug and play harness tekonsha if I remember correctly all went well except for the one corroded plug truck side. I cut and matched the wires by location and I can either have markers off of the switch or markers when the brakes are applied but no actual brake lights
Please help me figure this one out

The g/y wire which should be the correct one for this gets markers w brake pedal
 
That's certainly not plug and play. The true plug and play is a Hopkin's or Hoppy. Search using either of those. They both connect inside the rear interior panels by tapping into each rear lamp harness pigtails.
 
Assuming those connectors are just crimp on and not soldered, check each one to be certain it is/stays connected. You may have wiggled it to a good connection for now, but it could loosen again.
