I was looking at that one :)

I'd rather the size of an M101a2 though.

If you are thinking of the 101, look for the a3 over the a2 and never an a1. The a3 has 48" between the fender wells in the cargo dept. The a1 nor the a2 has that. Just something to keep in mind.

The a3 also wights a good 300# more if I remember right. Its the 3/4 ton right? Like 1340 pounds or something

Both the A2 and A3 weigh about 1300# empty. the A1 is like 1000#.

The M105 is about 2200# and a terribly choice for an FJ.

That sounds more like it

The 416 is the best for pulling behind a FJC I think.

One thing to note, first and formost is to open up the hubs and inspect the bearings. Typically this is never done thru the military life of the trailer. It's an easy job. Unless you hit yourself in the head with the rubber mallet you are using to break the drum free with. You'll need an impact driver to get the screws out. You know, the kind you hit with a hammer.

Fun Fun!

I have a few days work ahead of me...

$1300, yikes.

There are quite a few in texas that are in good condition for 700 or less. I'd like to find something with in a few hours drive.

If I could get 1300 for my trailer, I'd sell it in a heartbeat. Then go buy 5 more for that price...

Yeah i am considering doing the gov liquidation route.
What was the process you went through to get yours?

I'd sell mine for that much too. If you go the gov liquidation way, expect the process to take a few months to get the thing and have it registered.

It's kind of a pain but worth it in the end. Just don't be in a rush. Make sure you file the paperwork correctly. I remember it took a couple months for my stuff to get through. Start watching the bids now. Get a feel for how the pricing is. I bid on a bunch of lots until I figured out that the real bidding doesn't start until the last seconds. Look very hard at the pictures. You can set up an appt. to view the lot before bidding but Ft. Polk is kind of a hike. I feel I got my $$ worth. I got 2 trailers that were fairly equal in terms of condition. Because of the cheap price, I'd recommend on bidding on a lot that has 2 trailers. It'd be great to have one to practice on fabbing up and the other to actually use. If I had the space, I probably would have gone this route instead of selling to Bart.

The 2 trailer route is nice, but i don't have anything capable of loading two trailers.

Anyone wanna go in on half-sies and get a lot of two? Jason? :)

I would cnsider, and I have a 5x16 double axle flatbed to cart them on if necessary.

If you want to go in on two i am down. I remember Brian got both of his together for pretty cheap.
