Nice pics Jon, did you make that orange skid plate on the runner?
Hey Josh - the skid is a BudBuilt. www.budbuilt.com I got both BB skids for the 'runner, they cover to the crossmember behind the xfer case. Frank put one on his 'next buy' list for his Taco after this run.

By the way, we changed Frank's right CV last night at my house. The outer joint was completely grenaded, most of the parts are probably still on the trail cuz they sure weren't where they were supposed to be.

Here are a couple vids. Spotty quality since I shot them on my regular camera.

Thanks shotts for the easier line comment:lol: Great videos the first time I went to charlouloe in my Zr2 blazer I turned around @ that ledge (the unsurvivable:lol: ) I could not ever imagine going up it or down, in the FJC that is a simple process. I'll have to hit the Gap w/ you guys the next time you go:) Thanks for posting everyone!!!

FUN! Thanks for posting.

Seriously! It is easy now, unlike when you went in that pic. Somebody filled this all in. No more banging the bumpers while looking down the mountain.

Shotts, I went to sutherland trail again last friday (to test out my allpro 3" lift), and someone came through removed all the rocks and made the trail hardcore, we got hung up on my rear diff and gas tank after the V on a obstacle, took 1/2 hour to hi-lift the truck up and place rocks under arghhhhhh. Almost looks like they used a shovel on some of it:(

No i knew you were stating that it is easier:cool: thanks for the info.

That Sutherland Trail ROCKS! I'm trying to remember where rocks were stacked to make it easier? Hmmm....can't. Gotta go back before I sell my Lexus.

That trail sure does rock, keep in touch I would like to go before you sell the lx.
In a couple areas it looked different, here is one... this was from friday, look @ the crevis between the truck there was 1 1/2 feet of rocks stacked there before.

Thanks for the clips. I'm curious why everyone was taking that line. You all made it look pretty easy, but that side has always looked a leary for me. I've always hugged the wall on the passenger side going down that. Has it changed that much? It's been a few years since I've run the Gap.

9 years ago it was my first time on this trail. We had a jeep YJ take that line and the tire slipped into the hole causing some body damage. It wasn't the drivers fault, the tire just lost its grip. The rest of us decided to take the off-camber line you see in the videos and I have done it that way ever since. Maybe when I don't care about my body panels anymore, then I will take the chance on the wall again.

That line has changed quite a bit (large dug out hole) if you hug the wall you will hit it. I have always ran the line away from the wall, and when I have seen people try the other side you will scrape, but if you have a 40 w/ a roll bar you could do it:)
