No, synthetic cable is down on the list for things in the future. Right now just the Aircraft cable it came with

I have the competition series that came with synthetic and its awesome, it does great, ive pulled out many a land rover with that line and its a pleasure to work with, it doesnt get dirty and you dont have to worry about cutting your hands and you dont have to worry about it breaking and killing you or you grill.

I may can get you a good deal on some synthetic line(its not T-MAXX but...)a friend of mine works at some kind of industrial job where he can get winch line and I know they use synthetic, ill let you know how much they would want for some synthetic cable, im getting some for our 40 series soon when we get a working winch

After all of that you coulda just went with a powertank or onboard compressor or something no?

X2 on the CO2.

Toyota of Dallas was running a deal on the Source onboard air, ARB deflator, and ARB tire repair kit.

EDIT: I couldn't find the original post in the classifieds, but they are running this special.

I though about the CO2, but the compressor I got has a small footprint, and when i sell the brad nailer it came with the total cost should be under $100. :)

I am also working on the Dual Battery Setup:
West Marine: "Add-A-Battery" Dual Circuit System Product Display

West Marine: ATO/ATC Fuse Block Systems Product Display

Oswald might actually get to leave the port today or tomorrow! The shipping company got me the magic number to give the trucking company.

Anyway picked up some more trail gear today. idk if the breather lines have been extended, but based on the input i have seen elsewhere, i got the following:

1/8F NPTF X 1/8M BSPT METRIC ADAPTER
MSC Google Search Results

1/8X1/8 MALE NPT BRASS HOSE BARBS

MSC Google Search Results

Mini Air Filter

I believe the threads are so close you won't need the adapter.

You are correct. with the brass an adapter is not needed, but i wanted to take the extra step, and it was only $4 more for the adapters. :)

Here is the process so far:

And the Air Filter I picked up at PepBoys

I am a little worried about the tube size, but i think it will be ok in the end.

You will also need an 1/8" X 1-1/2" brass nipple and 1/8" brass coupling (a coupling with shoulders works best) for the rear diff. You can find it at a local hardware store. The brass nipple is needed since you will have to go through the rear brake line "Y". I used clear plastic tubing to run my lines and cable tied it to the frame, since cable ties can break away if needed. I didn't use an air filter, but I sell pheumatic fittings and have a check valve that I haven't tried yet.

I didn't need the adapters. The 1/8" brass thread easily threads into the breather holes. I also used thread sealant to seal the threads. Teflon tape should work fine too.

Where are you using the other 2? I know there is one breather on top of the transfer case...maybe the transmission too?

Also, you need to invest in a transfer case saver to strengthen the top of the transfer case. The top of the case is the weakest point and they commonly crack from the top down. It's good insurance in preventing a cracked case. You can install it from under the truck, it's tight though.

Georg (orangeFJ45) sells them for around $40.

JoeTLC also sells them for about the same. That's where mine came from and fit perfectly.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info on the rear diff. Not an issue to get a different fitting, or additional fittings. I was actually planning on running clear lines zip tied as well. that way i can see if water did somehow get in there.

I based what to get off of Coolerman's post:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/179318-oy-coolermans-2-71-build-5.html
Buy 4 horsetail or barbed 1/8 -27 NPT brass fittings. (You could also use 1/8-28 BSPT fittings) These are available from McMaster-Carr or MSC Direct for cheap. 4 allow you to do both axles, the tranny (3sp) and the t-case.

Total cost for the fittings was $8 + Shipping.

And got the filter ideal from some post... but can't find it. I just think that it will look good and work well. If i was really worried, i would tie the breathers into the snorkle...

It is on my list of thinks that Georg is setting off to the side, along with the knuckle rebuild kit for the disk conversion. :) Just waiting for the $$ to show up in my bank account...

If i was really worried, i would tie the breathers into the snorkle...

I was thinking about doing this, but the snorkle is under a vacuum from the engine. It is sucking air through the snorkle, therefore it would essentially pull a vacuum on your axles. With the vacuum present in the axles water would be pulled in though the seals completely circumventing the purpose of the axle breathers. Just a thought.

I believe the transmission is vented though the shift tower.

Good point, had not though about that...

Yeah, I should have checked the Breakdown diagram. .. but at least I have a spare should i muck up one while installing it.
