Welcome! I made the switch from an LR4 (2014 w/ 55K miles) 2 years ago this month and am very pleased with the decision. Like you, I loved a lot of things about the LR4 (though in hindsight I would have preferred a 2013 or earlier). But reliability, approaching maintenance costs and issues with towing a 6K lbs travel trailer forced me to make a move. (And I do not like their new Explorer, er, Discovery, at all. In fact I don't care for the general direction of LR.) LC (2016) has been very good. I didn't go crazy with upgrades but did a modest 2" lift with ARB OME springs and Nitrocharger Sport shocks, Slee sliders, Gobi rack, ARB drawers in place of the 3rd row. I've comfortably towed our trailer from CO to Oregon. I've done plenty of easy to moderate offroad. And though I loved the large, flat-floor cargo area of the LR4, the ability to setup a sleeping platform across the ARB drawers and the folded 2nd row have been adequate. Bottom line is that I can trust it. I loved my LR4. I respect and trust my LC.
