Anybody have any experience getting a later model Tundra wheel with TPMS to work with the 100 Series TPMS?

I have an opportunity to pick up a set of 2012 Tundra steel wheels with (or without) TPMS sensors. These will be setup for winter tires on our 06 LX470.

If the sensors won't work I will pass on them and just get the wheels for a lower price (hopefully). Thanks!

Did a bunch of research and it appears that the sensors should work so I picked up the wheels, sensors, caps and lug nuts. Went to the tire place to mount up the studded-tires on the new Tundra wheels for :princess: and told them what I wanted to. They looked up the specs and and said the sensors had a different part number between the two vehicles and couldn't mount the tire if they were going on the Lexus (gotta love Big Gov't). :bang:

So I told them they were for my Tundra and they mounted and balanced for me. $80 later...

The guy I bought them from works at a different tire shop so we'll see if he will try and play nice with the computer when he gets back from vacation next week. Apparently it can all be done externally with a hand-held scanner of some kind.

I'll update this thread with my progress (or lack there of) some time next week.

Would love an update to this thread. I have a set of 2014 Tundra steelies -- mint, with TPMS and center covers, $95! -- and I want to make sure that they will work on my LX when I mount my winter tires to them.
