I did the tpms bypass for the 460 and what I went by was the guide that said the yellow wire gets bridged to the pink wire on the harness.
I did that and added a switch between them so that I could toggle it on and off if I swapped highway tires for a long trip etc.

When I switch it to disable, it actually comes on intermitantly and actually looks like it corresponds with road vibrations. No other system sensors are triggered.
I soldered in two leads coming off the yellow and the pink wire. These go to a toggle switch. I swapped the switch and even used a jumper wire. so its not the switch. It's not the soldered lines as I had them crimped and switched to solder and no difference.
It would possibly be an issue with the factory harness plug into the tpms module but it works fine when in factory mode.

Is the pink or yellow wire the best choice for a 5v signal? Could it be the signal is intermittant?

Is a different wire a better option?

I tried the red wire as some said pin 5 and 6 where pink may be red. Still no dice. Still comes on and seems spotty.
Will solder a connection and try again on red.
I'd suspect a loose harness plug but tpms works fine when not bridged. Just cant seem to get a good signal, for the switch.

Is it spotty if you're just to jiggle it in your hand under the dash? Or is it only spotty when you're driving.

Spotty when I'm driving, but can't see it when I jiggle it.
I did the red wire and my check engine and 4lo light came on. Threw code P0500 - speed sensor.
I think that red wire may be the speed sensor and it was thrown off.
I'll have to do some multimeter work. I didn't really want to bridge the circuit permanently

I'm really surprised Acrad has not jumped on this. He is usually great with factory schematics, drawings, and info on electrical things.
PM him so he gets an email, then he may see this thread. He just may not have been on MUD in a while.

Calling out to Wiki Acrad!!! Do you hear me????

From the info I see this should be the correct Wiring diagram for '13

The only wiring diagrams I have on that are here at post #18. I never defeated my TPMS. They are out of the official factory WD book though.

Here's a simple idea, purchase 5 of the cheapest TPMS sensors you can find that work with the GX, get a 6" length of 2" sch 80 PVC, cap both ends (really good), tap threads in the side to thread the TPMS into, pressurize the tube and stick it in the back with your bottle jack.
You shouldn't see the light any more.
Yeah, it's kind of a red-neck fix, but it'll work.

I've found the programming so easy with Techstream never thought of defeating them.

They also have temperature sensors within them so can detect issues that cause tires to abnormally heat up.

I like them also, but for a wish list I'd like them to display each tire's pressure and heat, and disable the alarm when aired down to less than 15 psi for off roading.

You can view the pressure and temp on your phone... not built in like '20+ though.

Example of mine below

Can you defeat the TPMS with techstream or just adjust it?

Is there a bluetooth version? It looks like still cable only and I don't want a malware version from ebay

No defeat of TPMS with Techstream. I swap tires for the seasons twice a year so need to reprogram the TPMS sensors each time.

Aside from some 460 models in other markets ....the North American model can only hold one set of tires at a time.

I don't recall anyone using a wireless BT/Wifi adapter with Techstream. I know there are some higher end TS clones that have wireless adapters but $$$.

This thread would likely have the latest info on what cable to purchase. I last purchased my cables years ago.

I use a BT adapter though for my OBD Link install in previous post.

The VM in thread above should be clean... if you purchase from a highly rated vendor cable should be safe... guaranteed no.. but also haven't read of anyone purchasing a firmware baked Techstream cable with malware either

Thanks for the great info again. I'll post a question about the crawl control in its post as well. I may be doing it this next week as ive got the switches and wires but would like to investigate using the 3 position adjustable shock switch.

Sorry guys, I'm an idiot. I spent all that effort to grab the wrong red wire (speed wire)....
I looked at it so many times and still assumed I chose the right one.
Humble Pie is a bit bitter, but I'll eat it.

"What does it feel like to be wrong?" = "Same as it feels to be right."

Wired it in 1 min (waited 1 min for iron to get hot) and its good to go.

which is so silly. My daughter's '08 ES 350 holds two sets to tires, with the little switch under the dash to change them. It's things like these, that aren't critical, but just a tad annoying where Toyota/Lexus is 5-10 years behind everyone else...

I agree!
My daughter's 2013 Rav4, same year as my GX and the display for her infotainment is so much better than mine! It shows full album art when playing from the phone. I know I've said this before, but mine is like Windows 3.1 display. Yeah, it reads the band, song and album, but, heck my vehicle was twice the cost of her's new!!

Add to that the fact they removed several standard items for the 2014 year and on. How do you get to 2014 luxury and not have power folding mirrors etc? Toyota is very conservative to a fault which is good in certain ways like drivetrain reliability but not good in modern luxury or perks. Heck, my 2006 Mazda3 GT had everything the GX has but cooled seats and DVD. Leather and all features looked showroom new 10 years later (unlike my '12 Wrangler!)
