I'd be interested to see how they tied the rear seat belt anchors onto the truck. Other wise, looks like a great addition to the FJC line.

Its the nicest looking convertable FJ I've seen so far, but I'm still a fan of the hardtops. Mabe a removeble hardtop?

I was there as well and talked to the guy who designed and fabbed it for Toyota. They're testing waters right now, but I'm quite sure they'll shoot for it. I liked the third window a lot, way clearer than the regular FJ.

Were you able to see the rear seat belts, roll cage, soft top frame...?

I agree, from these angles, that is a much better design that what's been unveiled before. Maybe it's the tan rag top, but that's one nifty-looking rig. Can't wait to see interior shots.

The guy told me they had kept the front frame of the windows, and that the soft top would be made in the same fabric as the Solara's. He was about to open the top but I had to move on and couldn't wait. Sorry, I wasn't reporting on that particular car and I didn't tape him. But the marketing guy who interviewed me asked me what I'd like as a new feature for a future FJ Cruiser, and I told him: a Diesel V8 and five doors. You're welcome

I found some top down pictures last night. I'll post some up. First impression is that they didn't have time to come up with a solution to the rear seat belts (didn't see any) and there isn't a roll bar in the back, but over the top.

I just noticed that the window in the rear access door appears to roll down. The current model doesn't have that, I don't think.

I love it! It looks great, and same profile as the TRD ute concept from a while back. It would be awesome if the FJC line had these 3 versions to choose from- 1.suv, 2. vert, 3. sut

Wouldn't count on it, you would have to remove both front and rear doors I would think... I dunno, would be cool though.

I think it looks better with the top up than down. It would look better down if it did not have the solid window on top of the rear door. Makes teh back half look funny.
If they went into production I would seriously think about buying one.

I agree. I am just hoping-out-loud that removable doors will be the next evolution. Obviousely, a fold-down windshield (sorry, C-Dan, "windscreen") is out of the question, but this version is still one tick off for me.

That said, I'd own it before a Wrangler.
