Full disclosure. Chris is a friend. I’ve never paid him for work.

I send as much work as I can to him by referral and I’d trust him to work on my stuff

Very detail oriented and he won’t let improper things go in his care. He’s the go to in DFW.

Nobody I’ve sent his way has been disappointed.

Can confirm. Chris was recommended to me by Alex a few years ago. I was getting the run-around by a local cruiser shop who held onto my truck for the better part of a year after telling me it needed a new transmission and several other pricey repairs, but in reality it just sat in their parking lot in the same spot I parked it in when I dropped it off. Alex said he had a friend in DFW who was by-the-book and trustworthy and sent me a phone number to get a second opinion.

I called Chris and he stopped by my house (with canine supervision, which is excellent) and gave my cruiser a onceover and pointed me in the direction of several things to look into and possible repairs that it needed. No bull****, no sales pitch, just good advice and guidance. Months later, I took my cruiser to him for more extensive repairs and was given a fair price, regular updates, and a seriously impressive attention to detail. My truck isn't a beautiful museum piece like some of them that I've seen him work on, but I'm confident that anything Chris has touched is rock solid. Since then, Chris has fielded numerous dumb questions from me about whatever issues I run into or projects that I'm considering tackling.

To sum it all up, I'll say this: Chris is just a good dude. In a world full of sketchy mechanics trying to make a buck, all of us are leery at trusting a new person to work on our vehicles, but you can trust this one.

AND he's a dog person. We like dog people.

Seconding everyone else here. As a longtime Cruiser fan, I finally bought a very clean bonestock '97 FZJ80 about two years ago. While I'm handy, I don't have the time (or frankly the interest) to learn everything I'd need to properly maintain the truck. Thank God for Chris.

Every time I have Chris do some work, I ask him to let me know if he notices anything else needing attention. I would normally NEVER give a mechanic that sort of open door to write me up a big expensive proposal. Not the case with Chris. I have absolute trust that Chris is recommending the proper maintenance/fixes at the proper time. We Dallasites are incredibly fortunate to have him close by.

Wow! As a DFW Cruiser Head, I love seeing these words/reviews!
@crtx would you mind sending me your address/info so I can stop by and chat about some work I’m needing done on my 80 Series? Thanks!

Hey, DM has been sent to you with my info.

Hi Chris. Where is your shop located in DFW?

I am in Farmers Branch, zip code 75234.

Thanks again for the kind words and interest everyone! The traffic this thread has created is impressive. Very thankful

Couple of updates:

Land has been purchased for a shop to be built! The shop will be in zip code 75229 (Western Harry Hines Area). I anticipate this to be a year+ long process as I work with the city for approval, code requirements, etc.

I am looking to hire. Must have attention to detail, honest, and hard working. If you're Intrested, or know anyone that could be a good fit, please reach out.

In honor of the land purchase- here is the turbo 80 posing on closing day. More details to come on shop design and lay out.

Chris did an incredible job! I was left with no word from my previous mechanic.... turned out to be a complete win because I found Chris! Quality work, great communication, and good value! Don't plan on going anywhere else!! He is the best!

Thank you, Austin!

Couple updates:

Shop Progress: Shop should be completed by end of December. Will share more info on this as we start to finalize more stuff with the city. Super excited to get out of the heat and gravel and onto concrete.

Shop will have sealed floors, climate controlled, secure, etc. More comfortable work space will promote high quality work. Working in 100 degree temps is not good for staying sharp.

Search for a team member: Still interviewing and talking with possible hires. Start date is mid December. Reach out if Intrested!

Chris,

Very excited for you. You are an asset like no other to the much-needed service of taking care of cruisers the right way. As we all know there is a terrible sense of entitlement by most of the shops in DFW. It is a damn shame. Thanks for taking this journey. We will do our best to share what is good with all those we know. I applaud you.
