I'll just say it again...

It's funny (sad) how a Japanese company neglects the very country these cars come from....

We are milking every last drop of life out of the old 70 and 80 series trucks. Hell, even the Hilux Surf (4 runner) has been extinct for years now..

Toyota ga saite!! :flipoff2:

I had the same problem with them when I was buying my car I wanted the dif lock and side fenders and say swore blind that the model I wanted didnt come with fenders which was a bunch of lies so I ended up buying the fenders from buraimi Toyota brach which boarders with al ain u get 60% off parts cuz they have to compete with all the shops in al ain not even al futaim gives u that price

The problem is that saud bahwan is the distributer for the Middle East n Africa so they bulk order cars and they want to get rid of what they have so they try to make life hard by pretending to be idiots so u end up just taking what you get

Hello,

Are 70 Series still available new in Japan? If not, what was the last year they were?

Juan

70's have got the bullet here in oz because they can't get the 5 star ANCAP rating and all the ROPS gear is ironically making them roll.

They were good for durability like any cruiser I guess but I've never driven anything long haul more uncomfortable and cramped.

V8 diesel from what I've heard from Toyota Australia is here to stay now that they've ironed out most of the oil burning and ring throwing issues, the alternator and starter on the bottom still pisses me off but all in all it is a great engine.
I'm waiting on a 300 series cab chassis or something a bit more drivable.
The hilux (tundra's tougher little brother) is getting another major change next year and Toyota bent over backwards earlier this year just to stay in the mining fleets by upgrading all the safety gear.
