Hello I obtained a copy of the Toyota EPC I got it all working and can look parts up by putting in the Model Name/Catalog Code and Model but that brings up so many different parts. I would like to search by the Vin but when I put my 12 Digit JDM Vin it says it cannot be found with that info.

Is there some trick to searching by VIN?

Is there some trick to searching by VIN?

I put in my full model code BJ40RV-KCQ in the "model" window (exactly as I have typed it here).

The "Frame number" entry has two windows. In the first, I put BJ40 (or the EPC automatically puts it there - I can't remember which). But in the second window, I put 0036476.

Now that was the trick for me - My frame number (on the front RH chassis rail and on the VIN plate) is just 036476. I had to add an extra zero to get the EPC to recognise it.

Oh. And I also select the "General" region because my BJ40 is from Australia.

Hope this helps.

ISO VIN numbers are 17 digits, so the VIN field isn't going to work. Use the frame number fields as suggested.

I also often use the "model no. / catalogue code" field. Simply type "cru" (short for cruiser) into the box and hit search, it will bring up the various Cruiser catalogues in the EPC.
