I believe on this board we have a guy who works for at a Toyota Dealership Parts Dept. I would like to order some parts for my truck before they become obsolete. Anybody got his email, callname, phone number, etc?

Thanks

curious, what 80 series parts are you expecting to become obsolete? I can still get stuff for my 1960's cruisers, no prolbems for any of my junk made in the 1980's

Pimp,

Actually worried about weatherstripping for 4-Runner. I haven't made the big step up to the Cruiser yet. My first generation Runner is great, but underpowered. I will fix that also I can take the top off etc, have a sorta convertible, and miles just keep creeping up. I have 319K on it now.

What year is your Runner?

4-Runner

Doug,

The Runner is a 1986 SR5 edition, I love it. But I drove a 60 series last night, I am sold on that model now. LOTS more room and comfort. Now to find one with somewhat lower mileage than the one I looked at last night. It had 200K.

If you think the 60 is nice drive an 80.

It looks like the 60 would have more interior room than the 80. The 60 is still a little primitive and I actually like that. I hunt Upland Birds, and want my friends to feel comfortable getting into a basic truck. The 80 is more civilized, etc. Do I have this correct?

Thanks
Steve

Only if you leave it stock. :D

My not so humble opinion -

Yes, more civilized but none less capable. In fact, depending on the presents of factory lockers etc....MORE capable. You should definetely drive both before purchasing.

Did 60's come with a 3rd row seat?

BTW -

Someone needs to get over to the 60 section and defend the 80 series. 80 vs 60 thread going on.

If you think a 80 is nice, drive a 100! :flipoff2: I love my 80 but man, the 100s are nice!

Had a LX470 loaner car for about a week when we purchased wife's GS300. They had to fetch it from the docks and prep it, so they loaned me the LX.

Very nice, but almost too cushy a ride. Loved the different suspension settings, etc. and a great overall truck, but for my SUV ride tastes, too soft. No flames please, just my preference. I liked my 80 better.

I think you will find the 80 more comfortable on long hiway trips over a 60/62. It is certainly happier at 75-80 than the 60/62. An 80 with diff locks is difficult to improve upon.

Cdan,

CruiserDan,

Is your truck listed on the Reader Rides?
