This kit will replace the stock U-bolt assembly in a spring over setup, with Round Bend U-bolts giving you not only more ground clearance, but also pointing the threads away from the rocks you drive over which can make them impossible to remove without cutting.

These, like all of our U-bolt kits feature 3/8” thick Top plates, each with three available holes for the center-pin, which when used with our spring perches gives you the ability to move your axle forward or backward an inch very easily.

The U bolts are a 5/8” fine thread, Grade 8 rod that we bend in house, and they all come with not only extra-thick flat washers, but also Grade 8 tall-nuts that have ~ 75% more thread engagement than a standard nut.

One thing to keep in mind is that the stock configuration mounts the shock to the original U bolt plate, which means that you will need to come up with a new way to mount the shocks to the axle.

This kit will work on Toyota 8" housings that came spring under, if you are moving to a spring-over setup.

I have a flip kit in my rig but, still haven't had the shock mounts welded in.
Why didn't you incorporate a lower shock mount on your kit, is it that complicated?

Ray-

It isn't terribly complicated, the main reason we didn't is because most stock Toyota U bolt/Plates are attached to the U bolt plate that hangs below the axle stock. With the flip there isn't a U bolt plate below the axle to mount them too in the same way.

But you can easily use one of the brackets or pairs of tabs pictured below to get them mounted.
All of which can be found at the link right here:

When the springs are as strong as the too short Pro-Comp springs on my rig, rear shocks really aren't required at all but, those properly oriented U-bolts are mandatory if you're gonna play in or on the rocks like I try to do with my Yota as often as possible.

I'm not picturing how this works as a flip with a spring under. Springs would either need a plate under them (bolts down), or at a minimum square ubolts that would wrap around them to continue pulling them upward into the perch and housing.

Your observation is correct, this kit would not work with as advertised in a spring-under situation.

I need to re-word my description, because the point I was trying to make is that this kit would work on an axle housing that came sprung under, or over. So if you are doing a Spring-over swap, this is what you want, or if you had stock spring-over (w/ downward facing square u-bolts) this will flip them around. It made sense to me as I was writing it, but I can see now it is mis-leading and I will fix it.

Thanks for pointing that out!
